The dedicated restaurant insurance broker

Restaurant insurance policies, from a restaurant insurance broker

We are bringing bespoke restaurant insurance back.

For too long restaurants have been shelved alongside every other business, only provided with standard business insurance that ignores their unique insurance needs. Restaurants are a critical component of our nightlife industry, and therefore deserve a dedicated broker who can
protect their financial welfare.

Restaurant Insure is the UK’s top restaurant insurance broker. We cater solely to one type of business, offering bespoke policies and tailored insurance solutions. Our aim is to improve protection for operators by providing targeted cover at a better premium.

Restaurant Insure is established by NDML, the UK’s largest independent nightlife broker with
25 years’ experience protecting British hospitality.

Our story

Our story begins with the UK’s leading independent broker for nightlife businesses – NDML.

NDML were one of many companies forever changed by the unprecedented events of the COVID pandemic. Over two turbulent years, business finances were rocked and tested, none more so than nightlife and hospitality operators. NDML gained notoriety as a leader for the sector by their voicing against Government measures and continued work with the NTIA. In NDML’s eyes, it was imperative to fight for the survival and growth of the industry.

Throughout COVID-19, NDML worked tirelessly alongside our industry partners to protect hospitality operators. This saw us secure business interruption settlements worth over £13m for our clients, alongside lobbying for government support throughout. We also launched campaigns to promote venues, as well as recognise influential individuals to reflect the pandemic’s cultural impact.

Though some may see the pandemic over-with, for NDML the fight never stopped. Which is why Restaurant Insure was created, to bring restaurants under the umbrella of NDML’s protection, support and guidance.

Our partners are very important to us. We are proud to say, through our partnership with NDML and the NTIA, we sit at the top table of decision-makers in the restaurant insurance scene. We are up to date on all the upcoming policy changes and how they could affect your cover.

We hope to continue to work tirelessly with our esteemed partners, but also to build new partnerships as Restaurant Insure. We promise to deliver on targets and be paragons for the industry.

Our covers

We make buying restaurant insurance simple. We’ve deconstructed comprehensive insurance policies into their core parts, offering clients a menu of covers and exclusions to choose from. We advise what policies should be within your policy, developing the perfect recipe of covers. Each client is guaranteed to receive a result they are happy with, and a bespoke solution that works.

However, we appreciate the fast-paced environment involved in running a successful restaurant. It’s why we allocate a dedicated handler to manage your case and negotiate with insurers on your behalf.

Additional covers

Terrorism Insurance

Insurers for losses as a result of terror-related disturbances. Specific terror cover is reinsured by Pool Re and so must be requested from an insurer. It protects against terror threats, attacks and the ranging consequences. Your business does not need to be directly involved in the attack in order to be damaged by terrorism. Bomb attacks from an assailant are more common in densely populated areas, but are not unknown to happen in rural towns. Cyber terrorism is a prevalent danger, it involves an attack shutting down systems which can directly or indirectly damage your returns. Denial of Access, Loss of Attraction and Business Interruption covers can all play a role within Terrorism Insurance.

Publicly accessible locations, such as restaurants, are responsible for reporting suspicious behaviour, and the new Protect Duty legislation is designed to make the public safer. Local businesses have a responsibility to defend against terrorism and help reduce the threat level.

Cyber Insurance

Cyber Attack Insurance will protect you for losses caused by network failures, privacy breaches or data loss. Cyber Crime Insurance relates to monetary loss due to malicious action from hackers. This includes social engineering, where an employee is deceived or scammed into giving financial details or making payment to a fraudulent source.

Cyber attacks are the great 21st century threat and should be addressed acutely by restaurant owners. 90% of cyber attacks are successful; business need to do all they can to mitigate these risks. Cyber insurance will also cover against claims made by customers whose data was perhaps lost or compromised.

Flood Excess Insurance

This extension covers the excess amount involved in a flood claim. Insurers will cover the costs if your claim falls below the excess policy, a useful safety net when the worst happens. Mitigating exposure to flooding is important, and attempting to find a large sum of money when a flood hits can be difficult. A flood excess extension may well be a necessity for high flood risk venues.

Loss Recovery Insurance

This policy ensures a smooth and extensive recovery post-disaster. This policy will help restaurants get back up and running after a fire, flood or cyber attack, it will also cover buildings and contents losses. In combination with a recovery plan, loss recovery funds will ensure the smallest interim interruption period, replacing stock or repairing premises.

Our process

Wondering how to get started switching restaurant insurance brokers?
Get started with Restaurant Insure by following three easy steps…

1

We want to hear from you

Who you are? Where you are? How many people you employ? What type of restaurant business you run? Your claims history?

We will undertake a confidential review, analysing how your cover can be improved with a positive knock-on effect to your premiums. This will allow us to find out your claims history and the state of your cover at the present. We’ll investigate if inflated claims reserves are pushing up your premium or if you have unnecessary outdated extensions. We can see whether you are underinsured, or perhaps over insured, and if there are gaps in your insurance leaving you exposed.

2

Talk to our team

We’ll arrange a call to talk to you about your options and how best we can help you.

We want to understand your needs and requirements; we believe this is the best way to build a relationship and ultimately produce the best cover. For a truly tailored comprehensive insurance, have your insurance details ready as well as information about your business. We should have a range of options readily available and, with your permission, go to insurers to ask for a better premium.

3

Accept our quote

Our team will then pitch your information to our insurers and work towards getting you the best premium possible. Once we’ve agreed upon the premium and cover options, we’ll bring you an offer you’ll hopefully accept.

Our restaurant insurance offer promises to be a comprehensive insurance portfolio tailored to your business’s needs. It will include an extensive range of policies that covers your risks. We work hard to get premiums down and deliver an insurance offer that’s in the best interest of clients.

Once you accept our offer and become a Restaurant Insure policyholder,
you get to reap the benefits.
